Golden Fuel Systems is the leading Straight Vegetable Oil conversion company in the world. Based out of Springfield Missouri, GFS has converted more diesel engines to run on 100% vegetable than anyone else in the world. I was hired as the art director of this company in 2001. I worked on everything from their website design to business cards to promotional videos and viral marketing.

Several years ago, Golden Fuel Systems decided to change their corporate name from Greasel Conversions, Greasel being a play on words between grease and diesel to Golden Fuel Systems. I was in charge of developing the new corporate logo. The new logo and name helped subliminally change consumers perception of their products being a fringe technology only used by people willing to get greasy and gave it more main stream acceptance. I was responsible for taking the entire organizations marketing materials and switching them over to the new image.

Every organization needs basic marketing materials in order to connect with potential clients. This was the first generic business card which we developed for Golden Fuel Systems after they rebranded their name.

Golden Fuel Systems was invited to give a presentation at Google for their Tech Talk Series. I was in charge of all website promotional ads, flyers and power point presentation used at the talk. I also traveled with President of Golden Fuel Systems to Google Headquarters to aid in the presentation.

One of the biggest challenges facing Golden Fuel Systems was how to teach their clients the proper way to identify good waste vegetable oil, how to collect it and how to filter it for final use in their diesel vehicles. Our solution was to create an instructional DVD that every customer would receive to instruct them in proper techniques.

I not only did I created the artwork for the DVD case and disk itself, but I also filmed, edited and authored the entire DVD from beginning to end. The DVD has been very successful and has sold thousands of copies world wide. Since it's development 2 more instructional DVDs have been developed on other Straight Vegetable Oil tips and techniques.

The concept for the title of the instructional DVD "Liquid Gold" was designed to convey the value that waste vegetable can have. Not only is the color of vegetable golden, but it also offers an economical solution to petroleum fuel. If you think about it, all vegetable oil is derived from the sun and by using the term Golden in the title, it conveys all of these attributes which Straight Vegetable Oil fuel possesses.

Adventure Highway TV show teamed up with Golden Fuel Systems for a historic Guinness World Record attempt to be the first to officially navigate a vehicle powered on nothing but straight vegetable oil from coast to coast and back. I designed many web and print marketing campaigns to promote the event.

This was the sponsored truck which Golden Fuel Systems converted to run on 100% straight vegetable oil. I also designed many marketing campaigns to promote the vehicle and it's historic cross country trek.

Golden Fuel Systems built an industry first tank designed 100% for the use with straight vegetable oil. The tanks being produced by Golden Fuel Systems competitors a the time were either retrofits or were all hand fabricated out of aluminum. To convey the durability of these new cross linked polyethylene tanks compared to the competition we developed this advertising campaign showing the strength of cross linked polyethylene in other industries.

Golden Fuel Systems Pioneered many of the technologies that many of its competitors now copy in some way or another. To illustrate some of the industry first technologies and techniques Golden Fuel System developed, I created this 3D view of the system inside a vehicle.

Golden Fuel Systems needed brochures to hand out at trade shows and other corporate events. I designed several brochures discussing a broad range of systems Golden Fuel Systems carries.

The brochures were very successful in conveying a large quantity of information about their technology at the various events they attended.

Eventually Golden Fuel Systems customer base started requesting Straight Vegetable Oil related merchandise. Golden Fuel Systems saw this as a great opportunity to spread the word about Straight Vegetable Technology, add additional merchandise to increase profits and in the process get free advertising. I designed a variety or promotional posters, banners, tshirts, bumper stickers etc. etc.

We had an idea for an ad using an old style gas pump to make it look as though someone was filling their diesel vehicle with straight vegetable oil. We found a location that still had an old gas pump and did a photo shoot with the owners family fueling up. I modified the photo to make it look as though it was actually pumping vegetable oil.

Charles Anderson, president of Golden Fuel Systems used his technology in every vehicle he owned. To show his customers that diesel engines can be found in almost every type of vehicle imaginable, we created this poster to showcase the wide variety of diesel vehicles that can be powered using straight vegetable oil.

With Golden Fuel Systems attending so many trade shows and events around the country it only made sense to wrap the vehicle. With so much time on the road, Golden Fuel Systems had a great opportunity for free advertising. It was very effective because the same technology we were advertising was being demonstrated at the very same time. The vehicle wrap got many onlookers to inquire about the technology and eventually led to many new sales.

The rear of the vehicle probably caught the attention of most of the other motorists on the road since it is the surface of the vehicle that they were exposed to long enough to read the graphics. In the first month alone the vehicle wrap

Along with the company vehicle, the company trailer had huge potential for free marketing. With its large blank surface in the back it was the perfect place to add a decal. It too paid for itself in the first month that it was applied to the trailer.
