Hobo
Jim is an Alaskan legend. After many years of working in
Alaska as a commercial fisherman, logger, as well as cowboy,
Hobo took to writing songs about his occupations and wilderness
lifestyle. Hobo has gathered a multitude of fans across
the state of Alaska and among it’s visitors. In 1994, the
state legislature and governor of Alaska named Hobo Jim
“Alaska’s state balladeer.” Jim now performs regularly throughout
the state of Alaska, as well as across the United States,
Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia and he recently returned
from performing for the troops in Afghanistan. Hobo Jim
will headline this year’s Alaska state Fair as usual. His
other headline credits include the Telluride Bluegrass festival
and the Kerrville Folk Festival. Jim has recorded six albums
as well as three children’s records.
